Taika Waititi's Beloved New Zealand Adventure-Comedy Hunt for the Wilderpeople Arrives In 4K Digitally For The First Time In The U.S. From Radial Entertainment

The wild is calling once again! The fan-favorite coming of age adventure Hunt for the Wilderpeople, starring Sam Neill (Jurassic Park, Possession) with Julian Dennison (Deadpool 2, Y2K) will be available for digital purchase and rental in 4K on September 1 for the first time in the U.S from Radial Entertainment. Directed by Academy Award®-winning director Taika Watiti, this delightfully quirky film will be available on all major platforms, and fans can pre-order their copy now.  

In celebration of the film’s 10th anniversary, there will be a special screening of the film at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on Friday, October 2, featuring a Q&A with director Taika Watiti. Tickets are now on sale for museum members and will be available to the general public on August 20.  

Hunt for the Wilderpeople is the story of Ricky (Julian Dennison), a defiant young city kid who finds himself on the run with his cantankerous foster uncle (Sam Neill) in the wild New Zealand bush. A national manhunt ensues, and the two are forced to put aside their differences and work together in this hilarious and heartfelt adventure. The film also features New Zealand’s favorite funny people – Rhys Darby, Rachel House, and Rima Te Wiata – with Waititi making a cameo himself. 

Radial Entertainment will also be releasing Hunt for the Wilderpeople, as a physical 4K UHD Collector’s Edition in early 2027. Full details on configuration and bonus features will be announced in late 2026.
